Data Without Context is Noise
Over the past thirty years, managerialism has displaced leadership in public and private institutions. The former is deeply concerned about process whereas the latter is focused on outcomes. In managerialism, the gathering of data becomes a prized activity in its own right — what passes for work. What is being measured is input, not outcomes.
A leader will look for information that disproves a hypothesis in order to get to the root of the problem. Knowledge and experience matter in determining the difference between noise and context. Contexr provides the context that transforms data into decisions.
